Motiv Ring
Im a lover of all things Apple but if I had to do without 1 of their products in my quiver, it would have to be the Apple Watch. Battery doesn't last all day, dont really use the voice command, and its a bit bulky. I upgrade my iPhone every year and syncing it up with a new phone is way too cumbersome. Cue Motiv.
Motiv is a ring that tracks fitness, sleep and heart rate. It has a little charger that plugs right into your computer USB port (even comes with a keychain holder), and should last a couple of days. Its basically everything I am looking for in a digital tracker in the smallest device possible. Wearable technology like watches and bracelets are nice, but I was wanting something minimal that doesn't make me feel like Im wearing it.
The first thing you are going to want to do is head over to Motiv and order your sizing set. Its going to come in the mail looking like this. Again, huge fan of everything Apple but Motiv's packaging is super sleek. Ill get to sizing more later but going to address this now...
DO NOT RUSH to put your order in after you get your sizing set. Motiv has it listed everywhere to wear the ring for a day or two because its normal for your fingers to change size throughout the day. If you're like me and thought "meh thats not me," you're wrong. I ended up wearing my sizing set for a full work week before finding my correct size. Trust me, do not rush the process.
There is going to be a little rip tab, pull that and a little orange tab will pop its head on out. Pull that out and your sizing set packaging will look like this. There are 7 different ring sizes, test them out and again, DONT RUSH. I ended up with a size 10 to wear on my index finger snugly. With this size, Im able to wear it comfortably on other fingers, as well.
Keep it on for a full day, its so lightweight you won't even be able to tell you have it on. See how loose or tight it gets when you're at work, walking around, shopping, lifting weights, cooking, most times you won't even remember its on.
Once you have determined your ring size, you are going to head on over to mymotiv.com/go and input the code you have on your sizing box. That code is good for your one purchase, and then you can gift the sizing box to a friend who interested and he/she will get a huge discount. I dropped my code in the morning and received a shipping confirmation later on that day. Living in Hawaii, you dont take shipping seriously because shit never gets here on time. Shipping Gods were on my side and I received it 2 days later.
Set up was a breeze. It comes with a charger and a spare charger that is housed in a keychain holder (so slick). It comes with a little foldout of instructions but for the sake of this blog, I went the simpler route and winged it. Downloaded the app and it gives you a video guide on what to do...basically plug in the charger, put the ring into that little notch, your app syncs the ring to your phone and done. fkn simple. Going to test this out and will have an update on the journal in May.
