Express Denim
Companies have a certain aesthetic whether it be outdoors or a coffee shop but it is your duty as a content creator to please your client. Your not expected to have creative freedom over your work because you are getting free product (and often times, money) in exchange for content.
Working with Express over this past year has been great. Its a brand that sticks out from the rest because they have give me the creative freedom to curate my images as I would like. This month was showcasing their denim, which for me (non-biased) is super comfortable because of the ultra stretch. Next month is purchasing a suit and thats a crazy idea because its too hot to wear a suit in Hawaii. Where some people find restrictions, I find possibilities.
This partnership with Express has grown with trust and they even provided more stipend to get Tori involved and thats a fucking win!
This day, we got a bunch of their new Express T-shirts and a couple pairs of denim and shoes. We couldn’t go to our original location because it was raining so made due at the beach in front of my house. We had some coverage from the trees and came up with some pretty well lit shots considering the weather.
This campaign was shot on my Nikon with 35mm 1.8 and 85 1.4. This was also one of my first campaigns shooting with a Fujifilm XT-1 which I was able to get a sweet deal on Ebay since the new XT-3 was announced. Less than $400 for a fucking incredible camera, a 35mm 1.4, battery grip, 3 extra batteries and travel charger. Oh and I know some people don’t care but it came with the original box. Its a dealbreaker for me buying second hand without the original box. Am I right?!
